The City of Alpharetta's Natural Resource Commission and Community Agriculture Program will present a beginner-focused guided bird walk on July 17. The walk, led by Birds Georgia (formerly known as Georgia Audubon), begins at 8:00 AM and concludes at 10:00 AM. Pre-registration is required to participate in this event.

Space is limited and fills quickly, so interested individuals are encouraged to register promptly at https://birdsgeorgia.app.neoncrm.com/np/clients/birdsgeorgia/eventRegistration.jsp?event=7518&.

The event will be held at Webb Bridge Park, located at 4780 Webb Bridge Road. Upon entering the park on July 17, participants should look for a sign and road on the left for “lower walking trail.” Registered participants will meet at the pavilion near the restrooms. This will be a leisurely walk around the lower trail and field, focusing on resident and migratory species such as nuthatches, warblers, raptors, and sparrows. Participants will also learn basic bird identification tips and tricks.

Participants are encouraged to bring binoculars if they have them. A few pairs of loaner binoculars will also be available.

For additional information, contact Terry Porter from the Alpharetta Public Works Department at tporter@alpharetta.ga.us or 678-410-4718.
