City of Milton recently issued the following announcement.

Financial transparency and clarity are high priorities for the City of Milton. Residents and business leaders deserve to know what money comes in, what goes out, and the why for both – because it’s their government and their money.

To that end, the City’s Finance Department recently published two reports that document all this and more for the most recently concluded fiscal year (2021, which ended on Sept. 30, 2021).

• Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (or ACFR), which gives an exhaustive rundown of every element of the City’s finances. It can be found here: https://www.cityofmiltonga.us/home/showdocument?id=5844
• Popular Annual Financial Report (or PAFR), a briefer, easy-to-understand recap of the City’s finances aimed at those without a financial background. It can be found here: https://www.cityofmiltonga.us/home/showdocument?id=5842

The City of Milton has produced variations of an Annual Comprehensive Financial Report since FY2007 (notably, the City was incorporated partway through that fiscal year in December 2006) and the Popular Financial Report since FY2018. Every time, these publications have received the highest possible honors from the Government Finance Officers Association, which represents over 20,000 members across the United States and Canada involved in federal, state/provincial, and local government finances.
