Milton CityView Portal launches offering improved permit, plan review system

Announce

City of Milton recently issued the following announcement.

Beginning soon, the Milton CityView Web Portal is online and ready for applicants to take advantage of the new, improved program for Milton's permitting and plan review process.

City staff went through intensive, extensive training in order to learn the new system ahead of its launch. That has helped prepare them to better assist applicants and make sure that the Milton CityView Web Portal runs efficiently and effectively.

The online portal can be accessed at: www.cityofmiltonga.us/CityView.

For instructions on how to use the Milton CityView Web Portal, check out THIS LINK.

In the past, people would bring in large papers to share with the City's Community Development staff, which then would have to be stored in some fashion and be subject to weathering and other issues. They'd also drop off payments at City Hall. And they'd have to call/email to get the status of their application, subject to the City's hours of operation and individual staffers' availability.

Now, all that and more can be done online.

The Milton CityView Web Portal lets people pay and track the status of their applications virtually. Their personalized CityView page -- once they set it up -- will also contain documents related to their applications. (And if someone can't scan in their documents themselves, there's a scanner in City Hall at 2006 Heritage Walk in Milton that they can use.)

The new CityView system works for permits requested through the City for things such as the construction of pools, decks, additions, driveways and more. Related plan reviews are available as well through Milton's partnership with CityView, a company that creates software and online solutions related to community development and land management for governments all around North America. More types of services -- for more types of permits -- may be added in the coming months.

Milton hopes to offer virtual training (either live or in recorded videos) to help applicants best understand and utilize CityView. Even before that, a "How To" document will be posted on relevant web pages (and HERE) to walk people step-by-step through the process.

Those who still have questions can still email permits@cityofmiltonga.us, call 678-242-2500 or stop by City Hall during regular business hours to get guidance directly from a City staffer.
