The City Council has unanimously approved the construction contract for Creekside Park, marking a significant step towards transforming 21 acres in the Johns Creek Town Center area.

Located behind City Hall, the Creekside Park project will feature an amphitheater, terraced seating areas for concert viewing, 15-foot-wide trails, pedestrian plazas, and pond overlooks.

These amenities will be connected by a boardwalk to a three-acre constructed wetland designed to improve water quality and provide regional stormwater detention for future development in the Town Center area. Collectively, these improvements aim to make the Town Center a vibrant destination.

Recently, the City completed a trail connection from Medlock Bridge Road to the interior of Creekside Park adjacent to the Hyatt Place Hotel. This trail connection project represents the first phase of Creekside Park construction and underscores the City's commitment to pedestrian connectivity in the Town Center area. It also offers an opportunity for promoting a healthy lifestyle and improved quality of life in our community, which is emerging as a leader in health, wellness, and innovation.

In addition to the trail, the City recently installed a public art sculpture titled "Ferns," located on the trail adjacent to the Hyatt Place Hotel. Created by Julia Hill and Chelsea Darling, "Ferns" was made from iron salvaged from the historic former Rogers Bridge over the Chattahoochee River.

Groundbreaking for Creekside Park is scheduled for August 2024. Construction is expected to last 18 months from issuance of the Notice to Proceed, with anticipated completion in spring 2026.
