Construction To Begin On New Crosswalks

Crosswalk

City of Alparetta recently issued the following announcement.

Construction To Begin On New Crosswalks

Released May 05, 2022 02:36 PM

In action taken during their May 2 meeting, the Alpharetta City Council approved a $602,200 contract for construction of three mid-block crosswalks in various areas of the city.  The majority of funding for the projects comes from the TSPLOST 2 that was approved by voters during the November 2021 elections.

New signalized crosswalks will be constructed at the following locations:

  • Milton Avenue at Teasley Street
  • Cogburn Road at Cogburn Park
  • Mid Broadwell Road at Charlotte Drive
In addition, to these new mid-block crosswalks, the contract calls for signalization and other improvements to an existing crosswalk on Mayfield Road at Alpharetta Elementary School.

Work on the crosswalks will begin immediately upon execution of the contract by the City and its selected contractor, Exellere Construction of Marietta, with the order in which each crosswalk will be constructed yet to be finalized.  Each crosswalk is expected to take approximately 30 days to complete; however, completion of all the crosswalks should be completed within 120 days, weather permitting.
