City of Alpharetta homeowners will soon receive their annual property tax notices. While they may have already received a property tax bill from Fulton County covering county and school system taxes, the City of Alpharetta issues separate bills to avoid paying the County for that service.

The City plans to mail the notices on or about October 1, based on January 1, 2024, records from the Fulton County Tax Assessor. If a property owner has not received their City tax bill by Tuesday, October 15, they are encouraged to contact the City of Alpharetta by sending an email to taxes@alpharetta.ga.us.

Property tax payments are due by December 1, 2024.

The City offers multiple homestead exemptions that save homeowners over $10 million annually. This initiative helps keep Alpharetta an affordable place to live and raise a family.

While most homeowners pay their property taxes through an escrow connected to their monthly mortgage payment, some pay directly. Once they have received their bill, those who pay directly can make their payment online at https://bit.ly/RealEstateTaxes-Alpharetta.

There is also an online payment option for personal property taxes. Personal property includes inventory and fixtures used in conducting business, as well as boats, aircraft, machinery, etc. Personal property tax payments can be made at https://bit.ly/PersonalPropertyTaxes-Alpharetta.
