Two Georgia Tech baseball players, Andrew Jenkins and John Medich, were selected to the 2022 Academic All-District First Team, the school said in a news release.

Jenkins is a sophomore and Medich is a redshirt senior, the news release said. The players were selected by College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

"The Yellow Jackets were one of only two Atlantic Coast Conference baseball teams to have multiple selections as they joined just seven ACC selections overall," the news release said. "Tech earned multiple all-district selections for the third time in the last 10 years [2012, 2020] and the fifth time overall since 1979."

Jenkins has a 3.79 grade-point average in his third year in Tech's business administration program. Medich has earned a 3.81 average in the quantitative and computational finance master's degree program, only the second student athlete to be in that program the university said.

The two players have excelled on the field as well as in the classroom, Tech said.

"On the field this season, Jenkins has been nothing short of tremendous," the news release said. "The Atlanta native has started all 49 games at first base for the Yellow Jackets, hitting .383 with 18 doubles, one triple  and 13 home runs for 53 RBI."

Medich, a pitcher, has four wins, a save and 52 strikeouts on the season, Tech said.

This is the first selection to the all-district team for both Jenkins and Medich.
