The Atlanta Hawks are counting down the days until injured forward John Collins can return to the team.
Collins suffered a right foot strain during the Hawks’ 136-121 loss to the San Antonio Spurs and is in the midst of an expected three-game absence, according to ESPN.
"Following a period of rest, treatment and daily monitoring this week and throughout the All-Star break, his status will be updated as appropriate," the Hawks said of Collins.
The 24-year-old Collins has been a solid contributor for the Hawks, averaging 16.8 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.1 blocks. Atlanta has gone 2-1 since losing Collins.
After falling to the Celtics 105-95 on the road on Feb. 13, the Hawks ended the Cavaliers’ eight-game winning streak and placed the Orlando Magic on the fast track towards a higher lottery draft pick.
The Hawks begin the second half of the season on the road in Chicago on Feb. 24.
