Authorities in Georgia are searching for a “dangerous” inmate who recently escaped custody in Effingham County.
Kevin Lenix Wilson, 32, is believed to have escaped after a door malfunctioned, giving him access to an unsecured area, according to a Fox News 5 report.
Wilson was being held on numerous charges related to an October 2020 traffic incident, Fox News reported.
In August 2021, Wilson was formally indicted by a Chatham County grand jury on three counts of malice murder, one count of felony murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon related to an incident that took place May 13, 2020, in Savannah, Georgia.
Law enforcement officials said Wilson should be considered a threat and not be approached, Fox News reported.
Investigators are urging anyone with information about Wilson or his escape to call 911 or Crime Stoppers at 912-234-2020.
