Fulton County residents who receive their first or second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine through early December can get a $100 gift card.
‘’Beginning Tuesday, Nov. 16, through Saturday, Dec. 4, Fulton County residents will be eligible for $100 gift cards after receiving their first or second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine,” Fulton Health tweeted. “The incentive is available only to residents, ages 5 and up. Appointments are required!’’
Atlanta’s WSB reported that the gift cards are given out daily from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Individuals 5 years old and older are eligible for the incentive.
Children between the ages of 5 and 11 years of age can now get inoculated with the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine after Fulton County Board of Health and other Georgia Department of Public Health districts received the recommendation of the CDC for immunizations for school-age populations, according to a Fulton County press release.
WSB-TV reported that appointments are required for vaccinations at 5710 Stonewall Tell Road in College Park, 3900 Aviation Circle, NW, in Atlanta and 4700 North Point Parkway in Alpharetta.
Fulton County joins DeKalb County as Georgia’s two lone counties to offer their residents COVID-19 vaccine incentives.
Last August, a vaccine event in DeKalb County’s Stonecrest Mall that offered $100 gift cards yielded more than 2,500 inoculations, according to WSB.
The station reported that former Atlanta Hawks center Dikembe Mutombo stopped by and interacted with DeKalb County officers and people who waited to get their shots.
“This is about saving lives,” Mutombo, who played for the Hawks from 1996 to 2001, said. “We want to keep our community strong. We can beat COVID-19.”
The Congolese NBA legend’s former team and the local county leadership formed an unbeatable team, according to DeKalb County CEO Michael Thurmond.
“The Atlanta Hawks and DeKalb County government are running a full-court press against the deadly COVID-19 virus,” Thurmond said, according to WSB-TV
