The Atlanta Hawks have exercised option clauses on three of their players, ensuring that they remain with the team through at least the 2022 season.

The Hawks exercised fourth-year options on Cam Reddish and DeAndre Hunter, and the third-year option on Onyeka Okongwu, according to NBA.com.

The team has high hopes for all players, particularly for third-year player Hunter, who was able to partake in All Star festivities last year highlighting up-and-coming players.

"He was selected to the 2021 NBA Rising Stars roster, comprised of 10 first-and second-year premier young players selected by the league’s assistant coaches," NBA.com reported.

During the team’s playoff run last season, Hunter averaged 11 points and four rebounds and Reddish averaged 11 points and four rebounds, along with starting 21 games, according to NBA.com.

Okongwu averaged five points and three rebounds as a rookie last season.

The team was able to reach the Eastern Conference Finals last year before losing to the eventual NBA Champions, Milwaukee Bucks, in six games.

"We were a team last year that didn't start off well," McMillan told NBA.com. "We finished strong. It's something that can take some time. With all of  the guys that we have coming back – and playing time and minutes – it  is going to take some time to get that (continuity), for guys to get comfortable in their roles, and they will find out those roles as we get into the season."
