Georgia last year recorded a homicide rate of 8.8 per 100,000 residents, compared to the U.S. rate of 6.5 per 100,000 and the state’s 5.7 rate a decade earlier, according to newly released FBI crime data.
The total amount of federal public education stimulus funds that Georgia received from Congress during the COVID-19 pandemic is $6.6 billion, according to a tally from the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL).
