Johns Creek residents are invited to participate in the upcoming Bulky Recycling Day, scheduled for Saturday, March 8. This event is exclusive to local residents and requires pre-registration. Participants must present a valid photo ID with their address at the event. Businesses and contractors are not permitted.
The deadline for registration is Wednesday, March 5, or until capacity is reached. On-site registrations will not be accepted.
Volunteers are also needed to assist during the event.
Accepted items include bikes in any condition, clean clothing in tied bags (excluding shoes and belts), shoes and small appliances in taped boxes, books in boxes, small furniture that one person can lift (in excellent condition), tools, large appliances like refrigerators and microwaves, electronics such as cell phones and computers, bulky metal items like grills and lawn mowers (fuel must be emptied responsibly), and fluorescent lights.
Items not accepted include medical waste, ammunition, pharmaceuticals, sports equipment, waterbeds, vacuum cleaners (except cords), paint or liquids (separate event planned), fluids or gases (separate event planned), construction materials, yard debris, household trash, glass or mirrors, tires, carpets or rugs, box springs or mattresses (metal springs can be recycled separately), baby items or toys, alkaline batteries (other types accepted), incandescent or LED lights (fluorescent only), upholstered furniture, shower doors or tubs, Jacuzzis or spa tubs, window blinds or drapes, garage doors and countertops.
Residents are encouraged to donate good-condition items through platforms like Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace if they cannot be recycled at this event. For non-recyclable items unsuitable for reuse, residents should consult their waste hauler for disposal solutions.
Participants are reminded that arriving before 9 a.m. may result in delays. It is advised to arrive well before 1 p.m. to ensure participation before the event closes.
