Residents of Alpharetta can breathe a sigh of relief as Hurricane Helene, which was initially predicted to bring tropical storm force winds to the area, has taken a different path. The storm stayed well east of Alpharetta, sparing the city from any significant impact.

"We are very happy to say that this will be our final update on Hurricane Helene," said local officials. "We would like to thank the storm for defying all of the forecasts and staying on a track that was well east of Alpharetta."

City officials had prepared for the worst-case scenario while hoping for the best outcome. "It is great when your hopes are realized!" they added.

However, not all areas were as fortunate. Helene caused major damage in Florida’s Big Bend region and some communities in South Georgia. Officials urged residents to keep those affected in their thoughts and consider ways to assist them during their recovery efforts.

"Thank you to all of our wonderful citizens for taking Helene seriously, preparing, and being patient as we all came together to ready Alpharetta to meet the storm’s challenge," stated city representatives. "Once again, you demonstrated why we are so proud to serve this community and all of you."
