Current forecasts indicate the possibility of strong winds and heavy rains on Friday as the remnants of Hurricane Helene are expected to pass through Georgia. Rain is predicted to begin by Wednesday, ahead of the main storm, which is anticipated to reach the area early on Friday.

Authorities suggest making early preparations such as securing or moving indoors any outdoor items that could be picked up by high winds, clearing debris from storm drains, checking flashlight batteries, and ensuring a reliable way to receive severe weather warnings and information during power outages. "We recommend having a NOAA all hazards radio in your home and turning on emergency alerts on your smartphone so you receive warnings even when in 'do not disturb' mode," officials advised. More information can be found at https://www.weather.gov/wrn/wea.

Residents are urged to monitor local weather reports and storm tracks for updates throughout the week.
