Johns Creek City Council approved a balanced $80 million General Fund budget on Monday, Sept. 9, for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025, set to begin on Oct. 1.

The FY2025 Budget underscores the Council’s ongoing focus on the City’s strategic priorities. Public safety remains one of the City’s top concerns. The newly adopted budget emphasizes the Council’s commitment to maintaining the safety and security of the Johns Creek community.

The City plans additional investments to enhance community security by adding five new Police Department positions: two crime suppression officers, one criminal investigations division detective, one intelligence officer, and one community-oriented police officer. The city will also replace fourteen public safety vehicles scheduled for replacement. The FY2025 Budget fully funds the construction of the new Fire Station #63 / Police South Substation located off Brumbelow Road.

“This budget advances the priorities of our community,” said Mayor John Bradberry. “The adopted budget continues our commitment to maintaining the highest level of public safety and moves several important recreation and transportation projects forward.”

Additional highlights for FY2025 include expanding parking at Cauley Creek Park, relocating the Animal Habitat at Autrey Mill Nature Preserve, replacing baseball field quad lighting at Ocee Park, continuing annual resurfacing efforts, and replacing essential lifesaving equipment used by the City’s Police and Fire Departments.

The FY2025 Budget was first presented in a Work Session on July 8, 2024. Discussions to finalize budget details took place during Work Sessions on July 29 and Aug. 19, 2024. Public Hearings were held on July 29 and Sept. 9, 2024.

Budget documents and presentations are available on the City’s Budget webpage.
