The City of Alpharetta has opened applications for its annual scarecrow event, inviting local schools, non-profits, neighborhoods, families, and businesses to participate. This tradition sees over 150 creatively designed scarecrows displayed in Downtown Alpharetta each fall.
The application deadline is Tuesday, September 10. Interested parties can download the application form at https://bit.ly/SCH2024. The process is open to everyone and requires only a family-friendly design. Scarecrow placement will be determined by the City of Alpharetta, with displays running from September 26 to October 30.
Self-guided tours of the scarecrow patches are encouraged, with maps available online once the patches are open. All scarecrows will be eligible for this year’s Scarecrow Community Competition.
Judging will occur during the week of October 9th across several categories: Laugh Out Loud Crow, Spookiest Crow, SchCOOLest Crow, Best In Show Crow, and Celebrity Crow. Winners will be announced at Boo Bash on Saturday, October 19th at The Grove behind Alpharetta Community Center from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Award announcements begin at 6:30 pm.
