Sandy Springs, Georgia | The City of Sandy Springs is pleased to announce the appointment of William "Bill" Haggett as the new Executive Director of the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center. Haggett will assume the position in late June, working in tandem with Michael Pauken through his departure in July. Pauken has served as Executive Director of the Performing Arts Center in an interim capacity since December.
"Michael has done a tremendous job for the City of Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center and we are sad to see him leave us. We wish him every success in the future," said City Manager Eden Freeman.
Haggett's career in the entertainment industry began in Jackson, New Jersey, where he managed a 3,000-seat live music arena. Since then, he has held roles in various capacities including programming, venue management, production, and consulting.

"His unparalleled experience and innovative vision will elevate the center's artistic offerings and strengthen our community's cultural landscape. We are thrilled to welcome Bill and his family to Sandy Springs, and we look forward to the exceptional contributions he will make."
Prior to his appointment to the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center, Haggett served as the head of the Coral Springs Center for the Arts in Coral Springs, Florida for seven years. Under his leadership, the Center hosted a diverse range of national name talent artists, comedians, and touring shows in its 1,500-seat theater. In addition, he spearheaded innovative events that maximized the utilization of all available spaces in the complex. His tenure also saw the development of a premier theatrical training center for young performers, emphasizing his commitment to nurturing emerging talent.
Throughout his career, Haggett has accomplished notable achievements, including producing BB King's 80th Birthday Celebration to a sold-out audience of 10,000 at the Biloxi Coliseum. He has also overseen the construction of two Wayne Newton Theaters in Tunica, Mississippi, and served as brand manager for Boyd Coddington of the popular TV show, American Hot Rod. His expertise in consumer engagement has led to speaking engagements with advertising agencies nationwide. Furthermore, his entrepreneurial spirit has driven successful collaborations with partners such as HBO, Time Warner, and Anheuser Busch.
Haggett will be joined in Sandy Springs with his wife, Destiny, and two of his five children, Hudson and Carson. They are eager to embrace their new community and contribute to create a vibrant culture in Sandy Springs.
