Gov. Brian Kemp's coffers for his reelection campaign continue to grow as he announced this week that he raised $2.7 million during April, which brings his total to $10.7 million.
The funds will be utilized by Kemp for the May 24 Republican primary and beyond, a FOX 5 Atlanta news release said this week.
“Our campaign kept our foot on the gas last month, following the Governor’s bold leadership during the most conservative legislative session ever,” campaign manager Bobby Saparow said in a statement this week, quoted by North Fulton Today. “In the last 26 days of April, Governor Kemp and his family traveled to every corner of the state, delivered historic conservative policy victories, earned resounding victories in three televised debates, and continued to build a large fundraising advantage. The momentum is with our campaign, and we will continue to outwork our competition to secure wins in May and November.”
Kemp raised the funds in less then a month, as he along with other working state officials have been working; the Fox 5 release said. Approximately $4.2 million will go toward advertising on television as his campaign nears a showdown with challenger and former U.S. Sen. David Perdue.
Perdue is being backed in the race by former President Trump, who recently held a funding event at his Mar-A-Lago estate in Florida, where attendees paid a minimum of $3,000; the Fox 5 release said.
