City of Johns Creek recently issued the following announcement.
Mayor John Bradberry and the City of Johns Creek invite elementary, middle, and high school students in the city to join in showing us “Nature in Johns Creek.” Johns Creek’s newest Mayor wants to help students showcase what they love about nature in their hometown!
Participants submit 2D art pieces that can be paintings, drawings, multi-media, or digital illustrations. The purpose of this art is to identify and show us what you find inspiring about the nature in Johns Creek. Whether it is walking trails at Newtown Park, a fish in a stream at Autrey Mill Nature Center, something at your school or own back yard. Use those ideas and create your masterpiece!
Here’s how it works:
- The great outdoors is Mother Nature’s inspiration, now let it be yours! Get inspired and create your favorite nature themed masterpiece.
- Digitize your file by taking a (horizontal) picture or scanning it
- Submit your work here
- Art Due: Monday, April 11, 2022
Submit a digital copy of your artwork and fill out the corresponding form here. We can accept only one submission from each student. We ask that submitted art be 1-foot x 1-foot up to 3-feet x 4-feet. We recommend including an artist signature in the bottom right-hand corner of the art. The final winners will be invited to City Hall to formally unveil their artwork.
