A Georgia Tech Yellowjacket basketball senior forward landed on the 2022 Katrina McClain Award watch list.
Lorela Cubaj, who’s been with the Yellowjackets since the 2017-2018 season, garnered this accomplishment.
“If there's a list, she’s on it,” school officials tweeted of Cubaj.
She also landed on the midseason “Wade Watch” list for the 2022 Wade Trophy, the university reported. Not only that, she landed on the 2022 Naismith Defensive Player of the Year Watch List.
Cubaj is averaging a double-double on the season at 11 points and 10 rebounds, and is also on the midseason “Wade Watch” list, Naismith Trophy for Women’s Player of the Year midseason team and Naismith Women’s Defensive Player of the Year watch list.
In its fifth year, an award named after two-time All-American and 1987 National Player of the Year McClain recognizes the top power forwards in women’s basketball.
The Yellowjackets will face Notre Dame at 8 p.m. tomorrow in the McCamish Pavilion in Atlanta.
