When Georgia Tech volleyball head coach Michelle Collier announced the signing of Troy, Ohio, native Anna Boezi to the program earlier this month, she marveled at Boezi's tendency to be a quick study.
In Boezi, the Yellow Jackets get a multi-decorated three-year letter winner who was a major contributor on Troy High School's 2019 and 2021 Miami Valley League Championship winning teams, Georgia Tech reported in a press release.
"We believe Anna is going to make an immediate impact on and off the court," Collier said in the release. "She is learning the game at a fast pace and has a very high ceiling. We are looking forward to getting to work with her and know she will be a great teammate and competitor."
Notable among Boezi's bevy of individual accolades is the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association Player of the Year award that she took home twice, Georgia Tech reported. She's also a two-time selection to the Miami Valley League first team and has received Troy High School MVP honors in back-to-back years.
Boezi is the Troy program's second all-time blocks leader with more than 290 to her name, and she holds the distinction of registering the second-most kills in a match with 26, Georgia Tech reported.
The right-side hitter/middle blocker was highly recognized by the American Volleyball Coaches Association as well, landing on its Best and Brightest first team and Region 5 All-Region teams, Georgia Tech reported.
Boezi also participated in track and field for Troy High School, Georgia Tech reported. A four-year letter winner in the sport, she helped her school clinch the Greater Western Ohio Conference and Miami Valley League championships. Just like with the volleyball team, Boezi has school track-and-field records to her name.
A consistent entry on Troy's honor roll and a National Honor Society member, Boezi will major in biomedical engineering, Georgia Tech reported.
