Roswell Recycling Center: Did you know?

403

City of Roswell recently issued the following announcement.

At the Roswell Recycling center, all kinds of recyclables are accepted. They range from common items most people think of when recycling, such as aluminum cans and paper, to things that you might not think twice about. There are many different miscellaneous items that you can recycle on top of what is already accepted.

Accepted Items Include:

  • Books – Pages in books do not need to be torn out and should be left intact. Some books/textbooks are donated to Friends of the Alpharetta Library so that they may be given a second life.
  • Eyeglasses - Prescription eyeglasses, sunglasses & readers are accepted. Place them in its box or carefully wrap them in a padded envelope. The eyeglasses are collected by the Roswell Lions Club who distribute them to people who are in need of eye care and eyewear that either can't afford it or don't have access to it.
  • Printer cartridges - Printer cartridges can be dropped off as is.
  • Motor oil and Antifreeze - Motor oil and antifreeze can be brought to be properly disposed of since it is a Hazardous Waste material. The containers are contaminated and can be disposed of in the trash bin on site.
Thank you for doing your part. For a complete list of what else is accepted, visit www.roswellgov.com/RecyclingCenter, download the Recycling Center brochure, or call 770-442-8822.
