Georgia Tech volleyball has a new libero and defensive specialist in Cara Bianco, who has been signed to the 2022 roster.

Bianco played for the Blessed Trinity High School Titans, where she earned letters as a libero each of her four years, Georgia Tech reported in a release. She was her team's captain for a season as well.

"I am excited for Cara to join our program," Michelle Collier, head coach, said in the release. "She has competed at a very high level during her club and high school career and is going to bring in lots of talent and winning experience into our gym."

The Titans made it to four regional championships and a state championship while Bianco played on the team, Georgia Tech reported.

On her own, Bianco had been selected for two all-region teams, two all-state teams, and the American Volleyball Coaches Association's Best and Brightest team of 2021, Georgia Tech reported. She also racked up more than 1,000 digs throughout her career.

Bianco did well playing on club teams as well, Georgia Tech reported. She won medals at the 13 Open American Athletic Union (AAU) nationals, 15 Open AAU nationals, 17 Open AAU nationals and 17 Open USA Volleyball nationals.

A magna cum laude honoree, Bianco often volunteered in her hometown as well, donating her time to organizations such as Meals by Grace, Habitat for Humanity and the St. Peregrine Club, Georgia Tech reported.
