City of Milton recently issued the following announcement.
Poll workers are critical in a democracy, playing an integral role in ensuring that the voting process runs smoothly and fairly for all involved.
Can you step up to become one – making a difference in Milton and beyond?
Fulton County's government is seeking poll workers for the upcoming primary (in May) and general (in November) elections, as well as potential run-offs, for U.S. Senate, Representative, state Assembly and other races. And they've asked cities in the county, including Milton, for help spreading the word.
While the City of Milton cannot administer these elections directly (based on State law), our citizens can certainly contribute by becoming poll workers for the good of the greater community.
If you’re willing and able to do that, you can start by going to the County’s “Poll Worker” webpage (https://www.fultoncountyga.gov/inside-fulton-county/fulton-county-departments/registration-and-elections/become-a-poll-worker). There you’ll find some basic requirements, information on pay, and a link to the Poll Worker application form.
The County's deadline for Poll Worker applications is 5 p.m. on Friday, February 4, so consider applying today.
