City of Milton recently issued the following announcement.
Milton’s Board of Zoning Appeals meets Tuesday night to consider several primary variance requests and to set its calendar for the coming year.
Starting at 6 p.m., the Board of Zoning Appeals – or BZA -- will convene in City Hall’s Council Chambers at 2006 Heritage Walk. People can attend in person or watch the proceedings live online at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Scc31pE8No&list=PLpkXg669ndraS4Kii4znC0Qq4u-WvGzxZ.
The Board will discuss primary variance requests for two Milton properties.
The first relates to a R2-A zoned property at 810 BETHANY GREEN COURT in east Milton, not far from Cambridge High School and King’s Ridge Christian School. The applicant is seeking variances for lot coverage – which means the amount of a property with something built on it, whether it’s a house, driveway, and the like – of 28.7 percent (higher than the allowed 20 percent) to install a pool, decking, a retaining wall and a pavilion.
The second request pertains to an AG-1 zoned property at 1745 DINSMORE ROAD in central Milton across from the former Milton County Club. The applicant wants to replace an existing metal barn with a new, updated garage that encroaches within 10 feet of that property’s rear-yard setback.
The BZA’s final action before adjourning will set the stage for future action – by adopting a meeting calendar for the 2022 calendar year.
