Georgia Tech's Nicole Fegans recently set a new school record in the indoor 5000m run, the university said Dec. 4.
Fegans set the new record of 15:42.73 at the Boston University Indoor Opener and improved on her school record in the indoor 5000m by 23.77 seconds.
"What a great way for Nicole to end an awesome calendar year of racing and kick-off a new season," head women’s track and field coach Alan Drosky said in a release about the performance. "She continues to raise the standard for our distance events. We’re excited to see what she and her teammates can do in the new year."
Fegans also currently holds school records in the indoor mile and 3000m as well as the outdoor 1500m, 3000m and 10000m.
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets' next return to action on Jan. 8, 2022, at the Clemson Orange & Purple Classic.
