AAHOA Statement on the Passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act

Webp genbusiness001

Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) issued the following announcement on November 08.

AAHOA President & CEO Ken Greene issued the following statement in response to Congress passing the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, a $550-billion bipartisan infrastructure package:

“America's hoteliers applaud Congress for working across the aisle to pass this historic infrastructure package. The Biden administration and members of Congress reaffirmed their commitment to our nation’s economic recovery in this long-term investment in the nation’s transportation and utility infrastructure. No bill is perfect and, unfortunately, the measure will terminate the employee retention tax credit once President Biden signs the bill into law.

Earlier this year, we successfully advocated for its extension through the end of 2021 in the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. AAHOA maintains staunch opposition to this provision and we are disheartened to see the recovery efforts of small businesses disrupted at the cost of the infrastructure bill passing. Regardless, AAHOA will continue to advocate on behalf of America’s hoteliers to ensure sound public policy that will help our industry's recovery efforts.”
