The Georgia Tech baseball program has added five transfers to its roster for the upcoming season.
"Georgia Tech baseball has officially added five transfers to its roster this summer, further bolstering its roster depth," head coach Danny Hall said in a press release.
The Yellow Jackets added infielders Tim Borden II (Louisville), Brandon Prince (Georgia Highlands) and Chandler Simpson (UAB), as well as right-handed pitcher Cole McNamee (Wake Forest) and catcher Jack Rubenstein (Emory).
Sophomore Borden was named a 2020 freshman all-American by Collegiate Baseball at Louisville and sophomore Simpson was named to Conference USA all-freshmen team at UAB. Prince stole 40 stolen bases in 2021, demolishing the Georgia Highlands record, and was named the school’s Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Senior McNamee won state titles in 2014 and 2015 and finished as runner-up in 2016 and 2017. In 2017, he recorded a perfect 17-0 career record on the mound.
Senior Rubenstein was named all-University Athletic Association in 2020 and led the Eagles with a .475 on-base percentage. He was also named second-team all-conference his freshman year in 2018 and ranked second in single-season program history with 15 hit by pitches.
