Georgia first lady Marty Kemp is slated to host the fourth Pet Adoption Day at the Governor’s Mansion in Atlanta on Oct. 24 from 2-5 p.m.
A press release issued by Gov. Brian Kemp’s office said the first lady will again partner with several humane societies, animal shelters and pet rescues across the state to help find permanent homes for animals in need.
Marty Kemp said she, the governor and their staffers are thrilled about to hold the event again.
"As first lady, I’ve worked to promote causes that my family and I care deeply about, and nothing makes us happier than connecting in-need animals with their forever homes,” she said in the release. "If you're looking for a special addition to your family, please consider joining us on Sunday, Oct. 24."
The first three Pet Adoption Days connected 103 animals – 100 dogs, two cats, and a hamster – with new families, the governor’s office said.
Individuals interested in attending the event must apply, and applications are open for guests and adoption groups.
