On Oct. 8 and 9, the Wire and Wood Songwriters Festival is returning to Downtown Alpharetta for its eighth year, according to a press release.

The two-day event will be admission free and feature over 30 artists playing a variety of musical styles on six outdoor stages throughout Downtown Alpharetta, the release said.

"The 8th Annual Wire and Wood Festival is bringing over 30 singer/songwriters to Downtown Alpharetta for a free two-day festival across six stages October 8 – 9. This year’s headliners are Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors and Ruthie Foster," the city of Alpharetta wrote in a Sept. 22 Twitter post.

Festival goers will also have the opportunity to enjoy food from local restaurants and food trucks, the release said. The event has partnered with Music Match, a program launched to bring together local musicians to restaurants and venues and create a vibrant music scene year-round in Alpharetta, according to the release.

Outdoor stages for the event include the Main on Milton, Town Green Stage, Canton Street Stage, Brooke Street Park Stage, Market Street Stage and Formal Garden Stage.

Free parking will be available throughout the downtown area. Due to limited seating available, festival goers are encouraged to bring their own portable chairs.

Visitors can find a complete schedule of musical acts for the event here.
