A Dunwoody-based fast food restaurant plans to open its first new location in over 15 years in Dublin.

Thomas Stager, president of Krystal Restaurants LLC, said in a news release that the new franchise was part of the company’s overall growth strategy.

"It's been over 15 years since a new franchisee has opened a new Krystal, so this marks an incredibly exciting time for our organization and adds to the momentum that we've been building as part of our aggressive growth plans," Stager said in the release. "We're looking forward to partnering with Todd and his team at Yates Hospitality to bring our brand's unique tastes and experience to Dublin and the surrounding communities."

The Dublin Krystal restaurant will be located at 1624 Veterans Boulevard in the west central portion of the city and will be ready to open by October of this year, the release said.

New franchisee Todd Yates said that it was a privilege to be a part of the brand .

"We are honored to join the Krystal team and contribute to its growth," he said in the release. "It's such a beloved brand with its iconic menu that has been delighting fans for years. We have an exciting celebration planned for the grand opening, so stay tuned!"

The restaurant will offer dine-in, drive-thru, online ordering and delivery, offering the same Krystal menu as other locations, including the Original Krystal and Cheese Krystal, the release said.

Krystal Restaurants has been serving hamburgers on its iconic square bun since 1932. The chain is in 10 states with nearly 300 restaurants.

In 2019, USA Today selected Krystal Restaurants as one of its Top 10 Best Regional Fast Food chains.
