City of Milton issued the following announcement on July 27.
The Planning Commission will meet Wednesday night to consider two preliminary plat proposals – one in downtown Crabapple and the other the "English property" along Mayfield Road.
The July 28 meeting will start at 6 p.m. in City Hall’s Council Chambers. People can attend in person or watch virtually at this YouTube link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pp7ZItBnodQ&list=PLpkXg669ndrYVWsE0wlRcGSUOMviduGpv&index=2v. And the packet containing relevant documents for this meeting can be found here: https://weblink.cityofmiltonga.us/WebLink/DocView.aspx?id=181029&dbid=0&repo=Milton.
The first substantive item relates to the proposed development of 14 townhomes on 2.1 acres along Branyan Trail, a small road in the heart of downtown Milton. This development, called the Towns at Crabapple, would fall under T4 Open zoning and the Crabapple form-based code.
The second plat proposal is for what’s known as the English property around 1240 Mayfield Road (between Freemanville and Providence roads). The applicant would like to subdivide 33.99 acres into 21 single-family lots and name the neighborhood Heatherton. This is within AG-1 zoning.
After Wednesday’s meeting, the Planning Commission is next scheduled to convene the evening of August 25.
