Qualifying for Johns Creek Special, General elections set for Aug. 16-Aug. 18

City of Johns Creek issued the following announcement on July 23.

A Special Election will be held in conjunction with the Municipal General Election on Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021. The Special Election will be held to fill the vacancy in the unexpired term for City Council Post 2, as a result of the resignation of Council member Brian Weaver, and the Municipal General Election will be held to fill Council member Posts 1, 3, 5 and Mayor.

Qualifying for both the Special Election and Municipal General Election will be held Monday, Aug, 16, 2021 through Wednesday, Aug, 18, 2021, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The qualifying fee is $450 for each Council Post, and $750 for the Mayoral Post which is three percent of the total gross salary for the preceding year.

All persons who are not registered to vote and who desire to register to vote in the special election may register to vote through the close of business on Oct. 4, 2021.  Early voting will be held Oct. 11, 2021 through Oct. 29, 2021.  The last day to submit an absentee ballot application is Oct. 22, 2021.  Polls will be open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2021.

Should a runoff election be required, such runoff will be held on Nov. 30, 2021.
