Revamped, dynamic 'Milton on Demand' maps portal launched

Milton

City of Milton issued the following announcement on July 20.

The City of Milton has launched a revamped, dynamic GIS portal showcasing easily searchable maps containing information on lot lines, flood zones, neighborhood boundaries, variance cases, historical chronicles and much more.

You can access this upgraded feature by CLICKING HERE.

The portal greatly expands what had been called "Milton on Demand" to give visitors a one-stop shop for a host of map-focused features.

The previous "Milton on Demand" is now labeled as "City Map." This interactive tool allows you to zoom in and out as well as search for specific addresses across a variety of fields -- including plats, active permits, rezoning cases, stormwater structures, and MPACT zones.

People can also click the "My Milton Info" button to determine if an address falls within City limits and -- if it does -- learn what Council members and police officer is assigned to that area.

The "Milton Historic Sites" option highlights pictures and details on places of historical significance around the city. Then there's the interactive "Mark Law Arboretum" map showing facts, photos and pinpoint locations for trees located within the arboretum named after the late City Arborist in Bell Memorial Park.

Milton's upgraded map pages also have search functions for people to dive into categories such as infrastructure, parks and recreation, safety, and development.

This relaunch follows months of work by Milton's GIS (or Geographic Information System) team, which is charged with using technology to present location-based information in ways that serve City staff and the general public.

If you have questions about this upgraded tool, or the City of Milton's GIS/map offerings generally, email gis@cityofmiltonga.us. You can also find out more on this team, and access Milton on Demand as well as several often requested static maps, at www.cityofmiltonga.us/maps.
