Emory Johns Creek Hospital completed an expansion that added two new floors and 40 additional beds to the existing hospital, the hospital reported.
The hospital opened a sixth floor featuring 40 new oncology, medical and intermediate patient beds, along with three new nurses’ stations. The project broke ground in June 2020. It added approximately 70,000 square feet to the existing patient tower, Rep. Angelika Kausche (D-Johns Creek), said on Facebook.
"It was a great honor to join the celebration of the Emory Johns Creek Hospital's new expansion today!" Kausche said in a Facebook post.

The expansion at Emory Johns Creek Hospital includes large windows to allow in natural daylight, LED lighting and controls, and low-emitting interior finishes, the hospital said. The 6th floor is now home to 40 medical, surgical and oncology patient rooms and three nurses’ stations, while the 5th floor houses office and additional shell space, the hospital said.
The shell space will remain as is for now, but the new parking deck with its 640 parking spaces, offering free parking to patients and visitors, is now open.
"Our main commitment is to provide efficient, compassionate world-class care to help patients heal, close to home. This expansion also gives Emory Johns Creek Hospital additional opportunities to innovate, educate and serve as a vital part of our community," Emory Johns Creek Hospital CEO Marilyn Margolis said in the release.
