Nikol Boyd announced on May 14 that she will join the Taylor Road Middle School community as the new principal. Boyd said, “It is truly an honor to join the Taylor Road Middle School community as your new principal. I am excited to become part of a school known for its tradition of excellence, strong partnerships, and unwavering commitment to student success.”
Boyd brings nearly 30 years in education and over 19 years serving as a school leader in Fulton County Schools. She most recently served as principal of Esther Jackson Elementary School, where she focused on strengthening instructional practices, building a positive school culture, and ensuring access to high-quality learning opportunities for every child.
In her statement, Boyd highlighted her personal connection to the district: “I am the proud mother of two adult daughters who are the product of Fulton County Schools. Their experiences helped shape my belief in the power of strong schools and dedicated educators.” She also emphasized her commitment to working closely with staff, families, and the community: “I also truly believe that it takes a village to support and grow our students, and I look forward to partnering closely with staff, families, and the community to ensure every child’s success.”
Boyd expressed enthusiasm about joining Taylor Road Middle School due to its reputation for academic excellence and sense of community. She said middle school is a pivotal time in students’ lives: “Middle school is a pivotal time in a student’s journey, and I am committed to ensuring that each student feels supported, challenged, and inspired as they grow academically, socially, and emotionally.” She described her leadership approach as rooted in collaboration, transparent communication, and continuous improvement.
Looking ahead at her first weeks at Taylor Road Middle School, Boyd stated: “In the weeks ahead, my priority will be to listen, learn, and build connections with all members of our community. I believe deeply in the power of teamwork…and work together toward our shared goals.”
