The City of Johns Creek is in the process of setting its 2025 millage rate. The city, which was incorporated on December 1, 2006, has released a five-year history of its tax digest, property revenues, and millage rate.
In 2024, the Johns Creek City Council adopted a final millage rate of 3.646. Before determining the 2025 rate, Georgia law mandates a public hearing to allow residents to comment.
Three public hearings are scheduled for the proposed 2025 millage rate. All residents are encouraged to attend and participate. The first hearing will be on July 14, 2025, at 11 a.m., followed by another on the same day at 6 p.m. Both will take place in the City Council Chambers.
A third hearing will occur before the expected adoption of the final millage rate during the regular City Council Meeting at 7 p.m. on July 28, 2025. All hearings will be held at 11360 Lakefield Drive in Johns Creek, GA.
Annually, the Board of Tax Assessors reviews taxable property values in the county. If recent sales indicate an increase in fair market value for specific properties, they must reassess and adjust values accordingly.

The City has tentatively adopted a millage rate that requires a property tax increase of 4.41 percent. Citizens can attend hearings on this increase at Johns Creek City Hall on July 14 at both times mentioned above and again on July 28 at 7:00 p.m. Comments can also be emailed to public.comment@johnscreekga.gov.
This tentative increase results in a millage rate of 3.646 mills—an increase of .154 mills from what it would be without it (3.492 mills). For homes valued at $525,000, this means an approximate tax increase of $31.42; for non-homestead properties valued similarly, it’s about $32.34.
According to O.C.G.A §48-5-32 requirements, Johns Creek publishes this year’s tax digest and levy alongside historical data from previous years.
