State Representative Michelle Au (D-Johns Creek) and members of the Georgia House Democratic Caucus are set to hold a press conference marking the one-year anniversary of the Apalachee High School shooting. The event is scheduled for Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 9 a.m. on the South Wing Steps of the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta.

The press conference will include remarks from parents and families connected to Apalachee High School. During the event, speakers will honor Mason Schermerhorn, Christian Angulo, Cristina Irimie, and Richard Aspinwall, who died in the incident.

Rep. Michelle Au and other caucus members are expected to address attendees during the gathering.

Burns, a Republican, has served as a member of the Georgia State House since 2005, representing District 159 after succeeding Ray Holland.
