Robert Lee Chapple was born on June 25, 1989. He played college football at Georgia Southern University before transferring to the University of North Alabama. After going undrafted in 2012, he pursued a career in indoor football.
His first opportunity came with the Colorado Ice. He did not make the final roster. He then joined the Nebraska Danger of the Indoor Football League. After a few games, he signed with the Columbus Lions of the PIFL.
Chapple later joined the Jacksonville Sharks in the Arena Football League. He moved frequently between teams. In 2014, he played for the Omaha Beef, then signed with the Nashville Venom due to injuries on their roster. He returned to the Sharks later that year.
In 2015, he backed up quarterback Tommy Grady with the Sharks. In 2018, Chapple signed with the Atlanta Havoc in the American Arena League.
Chapple’s career included several short contracts. He often served as a backup. He has lived and trained in Georgia, including in the Alpharetta area.
